The Clean House

A Pulitzer Prize finalist comedic play by the contemporary American playwrite Sarah Ruhl, it tells the story of Matild,
a housekeeper from Brazil who wants to be a comedian.
​
Four women and a man with a desire to keep their house clean deal learn to cope with the dirt that comes from all directions, a lack of control over their lives and with death lurking around the corner, using a bit of laughter.
Translate by Amir Pirogovsky, this was a first national premiere of the play.
The show ran at Jaffa Theatre in Tel Aviv until the Covid epidemic.
